The latest single-option CSV template contains these columns:
Group NameOption Style in Product PageProduct HandleOption NameOption ValueSwatch Color Code / Image URLImage Source(optional)

Column descriptions
Group Name
Group Name is the unique identifier of a group. Give products in the same group the same group name.
Option Style in Product Page
Leave this column blank to use the system default template, or enter a template name to choose a template for the group.

Product Handle
Enter the Shopify product handle.

Option Name and Option Value
Enter the option name and the option value displayed for that product.

Swatch Color Code / Image URL
- For button or dropdown templates, leave this column blank.
- For color-swatch templates, enter a valid color such as
redor#000000. - For image-swatch templates, use this column together with
Image Sourceas described below.
For a single-option image-swatch template, the supported values are:
Value | Swatch behavior | Swatch Color Code / Image URL |
|---|---|---|
| Tracks Product image 1 in Shopify. | Leave blank. |
| Tracks Product image 2 in Shopify. | Leave blank. |
| Uses a fixed custom image. | A valid public image URL is required. |
Values are case-insensitive. Unsupported values cause the row to fail validation.
For backward compatibility, old six-column CSV files are still supported:
- A blank
Image Sourcewith a blank image URL is treated asFIRST. - A blank
Image Sourcewith an image URL is treated asCUSTOM.
If SECOND is selected but the product has only one image, Product image 1 is displayed as a fallback. The source remains SECOND, so adding a second product image later updates the swatch automatically.
Export behavior
Single-option exports include the same Image Source column:
FIRSTandSECONDrows export an emptySwatch Color Code / Image URLvalue and preserve the dynamic source inImage Source.CUSTOMrows export both the fixed image URL andCUSTOM.
This allows an export to be imported again without turning Product image 1 or Product image 2 into a fixed image URL.
Subcategory CSV exports use the same FIRST, SECOND, and CUSTOM rules. Multi-option XLSX imports and exports also include Image Source, with the values FIRST, PRODUCT, and CUSTOM.
